On March 17, the virtual Greek Alternative Tourism & Gastronomy Workshop 2021 in Germany

16/03/2021 The Virtual Greek Tourism & Gastronomy Workshops 2021 events start tomorrow, March 17, with the German market. The Greek Alternative Tourism & Gastronomy Workshop 2021 is held for the first time, aiming to promote all the alternative types of tourism Greece offers to the promising German market.

The event lasts for two days with the holding of hundreds of B2B pre-arranged virtual meetings, and is part of a course of successful online events for alternative tourism and gastronomy which began in 2020, in the Belgian and Polish markets.

The event is taking place under the auspices of the Ministry of Tourism, the Ministry of Rural Development & Food, the Intercultural Group for UNESCO, the Greek Embassy in Germany, the Hellenic-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and the Hellenic-German Chamber of Commerce.

The main Sponsor of the event is the Greek National Tourism Organization.

Aegean Airlines is the official Air Carrier Sponsor. Other sponsors are the Region of Central Greece, the “Greek Breakfast” and the Honored Region, the Region of the South Aegean.

The ongoing pandemic of covid-19  and its effects on both the tourism and gastronomy sectors, make it necessary to adapt to the new reality and create positive conditions for Greek tourism in the aftermath of the pandemic. Therefore, the events for 2021 will be held online through a specially designed, professional, digital platform.

It is emphasized that in parallel with the event for alternative tourism, a simultaneous event for the agricultural sector is held, with a barrage of B2B meetings, seeking to highlight the benefits of connecting tourism with gastronomy.

The Region of South Aegean, 23 municipalities, 9 private tourism companies, and 13 companies in the field of gastronomy participate in the workshop.

More events for the promotion of alternative tourism and gastronomy of Greece will follow suit. The workshop in the market of Germany will take place 17-19 March 2021, in the United Kingdom 22-24 March 2021, in Denmark 29-30 March 2021, in France 13-15 April 2021, and in Sweden, on December 2021.

For the promotion of luxury tourism and Greek agricultural products, our company organizes the Greek Luxury Tourism & Gastronomy Workshops, having selected the following countries: Russia 5-7 May 2021, Dubai, 12-13 May 2021, USA, October 2021, and the Benelux, on November 2021.

It is pointed out that the Greek Alternative & Luxury Tourism Workshops are addressed to Tourism Businesses and Public Bodies that are interested in promoting their services and products around alternative tourism or luxury tourism. On the other hand, the Greek Gastronomy Workshops are of direct interest to export companies that wish to penetrate or strengthen their presence in key markets in Europe.

70-80 local travel agents and tour operators of each market participate in the event for the tourism sector, and for the agricultural sector, 40-50 buyers (importers, wholesalers, supermarket chains, delicatessen, etc.).
